Privacy Policy
Last updated April 22, 2026
Overview
This Privacy Policy describes how Viddz ("we", "us") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our video messaging service — including our web application, desktop app, and Chrome extension (the "Service").
By using Viddz you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Information we collect
Account information. When you sign up, we collect your email address and, when you use Google sign-in, the basic profile information Google returns (name, email, avatar URL).
Video content. When you record a video, the audio, video, and optional camera feed you capture are uploaded to our infrastructure for processing and playback. You choose what to record.
CTA configuration. The label, destination URL, and placement of any call-to-action buttons you attach to a video.
Usage data. Basic analytics about how the Service is used — including video views, watch progress, and CTA clicks — stored in aggregate and per-video form to help you understand performance.
Device information. Browser, operating system, and general device characteristics needed to deliver video playback reliably.
2. How we use information
- To provide, operate, and maintain the Service.
- To authenticate you, secure your account, and prevent abuse.
- To process and stream the videos you record, and serve them to the viewers you share links with.
- To show you analytics about how your videos and CTAs perform.
- To communicate with you about product updates, service issues, and important account notices.
- To comply with applicable legal obligations.
3. Service providers we use
We rely on a small set of trusted infrastructure providers to operate Viddz. These providers process information on our behalf and are bound by data-processing agreements.
- Google Firebase — authentication, database (Firestore), and file storage.
- Mux — video encoding, streaming, and playback infrastructure.
- Google Cloud Platform — the underlying hosting environment for Firebase services.
We do not sell your personal information or video content to any third party.
5. Data retention
Videos persist until you delete them or until their expiration date, whichever comes first. You can delete any video from the library at any time; deletion removes the Firestore record and the underlying storage file.
Account information is retained while your account is active. Deleting your account removes your videos, CTA configurations, and usage analytics associated with your account.
6. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:
- Access the information we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate information.
- Delete your account and associated data.
- Export your data in a portable format.
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
To exercise any of these rights, email us.
7. Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information — including encryption in transit, private video storage, and scoped access rules. Read more on our Security page.
8. International transfers
Viddz is operated from and stores data on infrastructure provided by Google Cloud. Your information may be processed in countries other than the one you reside in. We rely on standard contractual clauses and the safeguards offered by our providers for any cross-border transfers.
9. Children's privacy
Viddz is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, notify active users by email.
